Medi-Veggie: Ginger Bug and Fermented Soda

This recipe aired during our March 3 episode featuring crisis counselor Emma Ferrell.

Ingredients and Materials for Ginger Bug:
a washed, organic ginger root, grated or peeled (about a tablespoon)
a glass jar with a lid
1 tablespoon of sugar
non-chlorinated water
Ingredients and Materials for Ginger Beer:
2 oz. of ginger per bottle (peeling is optional)
unchlorinated water
a strainer
sugar
bottle(s)
a funnel
Ensure your sweetened, diluted ginger juice is cool before adding your ginger bug liquid -- heat will kill our friends!
